All right, never having known the first thing about the "erotica" genre of literature, imagine my surprise in making friends with "Magickal Sex Goddess" Laura Stamps, who captured my interest by building what's amounting to a small literary empire with just her and an agent. Here's how she describes herself:

What gives Laura a devoted following? Ah, the answers to this question trigger some serious thought for all of us who seek followings ourselves:

• She recognizes who she is, and doesn't apologize for it. Some are put off by boldfaced erotica, and even mysticism. That doesn't affect Laura in the least. She goes her own way, and lives for those who love her, and isn't hurt by anyone else. She boldly declares herself a "slut" and thinks nothing of it.
• She delivers for her customers and doesn't hesitate to let 'em know. Regular blog posts, always consistent with her theme, same persona at all times and in all contexts. People know what they're getting.
• She engages. She tells me she spends nearly six hours a day on Facebook alone, engaging with her fans, answering her mail. And this gal has amassed nearly 400 Facebook fans in less than two months. When I say she will go viral, I am not kidding. She's about those relationships. If she starts doing video, her date with viral-ness is before Christmas.

In short, she lives out loud. I mean, what blogger does NOT want to hear this:
